Spinner Applet V 1.3    12 apr 2001

HOW TO USE THE APPLET
Create a map named "globeframes" in the directory the class files are in. For example: if the class files are in the directory "applets", the path of the frames must be "applets/globeframes".

Put 12,24,or 48 frames of each latitude between +90 and -90 degrees in this map in 30 degrees increments.
The filenames must be "globe48fr"+positive latitude number+"NB" or "ZB" for northern and southern latitudes respectively (Z is the dutch abbreviation for south)+three digit frame number between "001" and "048"+".jpg". For example: the 9th frame of 60 degrees south has filename "globe48fr60ZB009.jpg", the 30th frame of 30 degreees north has filename "globe48fr30NB030.jpg".
The equatorial frames have no latitude designation. For example: the 13th frame of the equator has filename "globe48fr013.jpg".
The numbers are inserted automatically by Fractal Terrains, if you use that program to create the frames.

Put the 5 class files in the directory of your choice.
Add the following html code:
<applet
 width="380"
 height="320"
 code="Globerot3.class"
 codebase="images/">
 <param name=background value="FFFFB8">
 <param name=foreground value="000000">
 <param name=frames value=48>
</applet>
The height must be at least the same height as the frames ;-)
The width must be 20 pixels more than the height to acommodate the radio buttons. If you set the height to small you will get two rows of radio buttons and you will have to make the width 40 pixels more than the height.
replace "images/" with the name of the directory the class files are in.
The background value will only affect the background of the radio buttons. The background of the frames is determined by Fractal Terrains.
The foreground value sets the color of the labels of the radio buttons.
The frames parameter must be 12,24, or 48 and specifies the maximum number of frames in one rotation.

I am very willing to give support on the applet and get suggestions for improvement. Mail me at author@uteged.com.

Index of files:
GLoberot.class			The main class file
Globerot$Rotator.class		Sublass displaying the frames
Globerot$ImageLoader.class	Subclass loading the frames in the background
Globerot$Latitude.class Subclass holding the enumeration information to make the source
				code more readable
Globerot$AppletListener Subclass to handle the clicking of the radiobuttons

VERSION HISTORY
1.3
Enabled the possibility to set the size of the frames and their number.
1.21
Opimized the loading of the frames a little
1.2
Stamped out the bug that mixed up the frames of different latitudes.
The radiobutton panel now really takes the colors you specify.
Greatly reduced the memory footprint of the applet.

Enjoy!
