What is Detbap?
Detbap is the language of the nation of the northeastern part of
the northern continent. It is written in a pseudo syllabic script that is very
suited to be hewn into ice and rock. Due to this little manuscripts have come to
us and little is known about the language and culture of this people.
How does Detbap look like?
All roots are built from two consonants separated by a vowel, or
a consonant followed by a vowel. Three major classes of words are discerned:
-
Concretes: nouns naming things you can see, touch, smell and
hear.
for example: table, man, house, rice
-
Qualities: adjectives naming properties of concretes.
for example: red, warm, good, large
-
Transformations: verbs that transform one concrete into
another, or change a quality.
or example: to grow (small->large), to feed (hungry->satisfied), to
build (wood->house)
