Java source code

Fonts

The alphabets of the languages of Uteged can be downloaded here as Windows fonts, to use them outside this website as well.

Language Font (TrueType) Name in Windows
Aninese, Anin anineesv3300.ttf (45 kB) Aninv2
Aulingese, àlin aul007.ttf (9 kB) aul001
Yfothallecha, fadUr axvIn yfo004.ttf (9 kB) Yfothallecha
Detbap, DET BAP detbap022.ttf (7 kB) Detbap
Aninese + Latin, VARIN mixedanin.ttf (70 kB) MixedAnin

All five in one file: uteged-fonts.zip (58 kB).

MixedAnin is Arial with the 26 capitals replaced by Aninese letters; lowercase letters, digits and punctuation are plain Latin. An Aninese word in capitals can thus sit inside Latin text, as the dictionaries of this website used it. It was recovered in 2026 from the embedded web font of 2001 and holds only letters, digits and a few punctuation marks.

Installing in Windows: download the zip file and extract it (or download the separate .ttf files), right-click a .ttf file and choose Install or Install for all users. No reboot is needed. The font then appears in every program that lets you choose fonts, such as Word, under the name in the last column.
You need not install anything to read this website: the pages load the fonts themselves.

The old screen fonts from 1999, mixed12.fon (Aninese) and aul.fon (Aulingese), are bitmap fonts for Windows 95/98. They remain here for historical reasons, but present-day programs cannot use them.

Java source code

Warning: the following source code is the result of my first attempt to write an Applet. It is neither very readable nor very logical. Attempts to understand them are at your own risk!

bullet

Baan.java: holding the x and y parameters of the orbit of Uteged. (0,0) being the point between Lazìm and Lazas.

bullet

bvu3.java: Consisting of two glued together Applets. One showing the orbit of Uteged around Lazìm and Lazas with the climate graphs, the other (Zonnestand) optionally replacing the climate graphs when the user chooses to see the sunrises and sunsets.

bullet

OrbitSmall.java: This produces a panel showing Uteged on day x, x being a parameter (day) in the HTML code that embeds the Applet.

bullet

Globerot.zip: Containing the Java classes ans sourcecode of the Globe rotator applet on the start page of this website. Included are instructions how to use the applet for your own world.

Both the bvu3.class and OrbitSmall.class use baan.class as a subclass.
